Ontario Bikini

So I thought yesterday just for kicks "wouldn't be fun to make a bikini" and I started work on it. Then I remembered all those Canada ones I've seen and liked but realized I've never seen one for Ontario, so I found a picture of a Trillium (our provincial flower) made a pattern and added it to the top. Then stitched Ontario onto the butt. I'm actually quite surprised at how well the flower turned out too, although it took many, many tries.

Great Grandma's Memory 'Ghan Completed

Well, it was hard but I did it. I completed my Grandmother's afghan for my daughter. I have to admit it was a little bittersweet but in the end it turned out beautiful and I'm sure she would have been happy with the outcome too.
I have to admit tho it was fun to see the look on my mother's face when I told her I was bordering it with the red and the purple. She didn't think red and purple would be good together but she hasn't seen it yet. I don't know, I like it.

Great-Gramma's Memory blanket update

So, the blanket I'm finishing for my daughter that my gramma started before she passed seems to be almost finished. I'm surprised it really isn't taking that long. Unfortunately I don't have any progress pics but I will have a finished one. I just seem to be having a hard time actually completing that last little bit. It almost feels like it is somehow keeping me tied to her in a way since she is the whole reason I began crocheting. Oh well, hopefully by tomorrow afternoon it should be complete and it turns out as nice as she would have made it. Maybe I shouldn't be making blog entries so late and so tired too, lol.. I kinda start rambling.
Well here's hopin' for an update tomorrow night.

Some finished projects

Ok, so I guess I'm not off to a very good start with this whole blog thing. It has certainly been a busy few weeks tho. Let's see, I spent my son's b-day in ER with his b/c he decided to get in a fight with a metal patio table..... the table won and took his two front teeth as a trophy (everything is fine tho, he just needs to wait for his adult teeth to come in now). Then there were the doctor appointments for his little sis at the hospital, apparently her head is too big for their liking. But no development on that yet. Then there was just trying to crochet and get as much projects done as possible.
I have less then a month b/4 my maternity leave ends and I have to go back to work, so I've been trying to get as many items done as I can.
Here's a few
This was supposed to be a wedding present for my cousin in May, but I screwed up the math and ended up with a crib blanket, oh well, my daughter can use it.

This one will be for my b/f's cousin who is due in June. I don't particularly like the colour but they are not finding out the sex and it was the only unisex colour I had. Also I should point out I haven't added the buttons yet, I keep forgetting to get them from my mom. But they are supposed to go from bottom all the way to the neck.

This one I actually finished in early December since it was a Christmas present for my niece. The flowers I added "outside" the pattern so to speak.well so far that's all, well at least of what I've managed to grab pictures of. Currently working on another blanket for my daughter though at the request of my mother (she can crochet but not all that well). Just after my Grandmother passed this past Nov. and she was going through her stuff she found a bag of simple grannies which was the last thing she was working on and had planned on making a child's blanket out of them, well I'm finishing it for her and hopefully it turns out as nice as she would have wanted it. pics soon.
